Pretty glasses, but a bit of marketing sleight of hand occludes the fact that these are not “Murano” or even “handmade,” but from a Chinese factory. I noticed that Carlyle didn’t list the country of origin but somewhat naively figured that being heavily branded as Italian style, they were at least made there - especially given there are plenty of inexpensive, mass-produced but beautiful and high-quality glassware producers in Italy (Zafferano for example). However, they arrived in private label factory packaging from China, not even with any Carlyle branding. If I had known I wouldn’t have ordered.
They are attractive and well made, but I feel disappointed that there isn’t more transparent labeling. For the same price or maybe a little more, order some hand blown Murano glasses from Etsy.
