Puglia Seagrass Braided Hurricane

This is the candle holder that makes the flame feel like it was meant to be outside, even when it isn't.

The Puglia is built from horizontal coils of braided seagrass wrapped tightly around a clear glass hurricane cylinder, the bands stacked from a solid woven base upward with open gaps between each row that let candlelight spill through in warm, irregular ribbons. The glass protects the flame from drafts; the seagrass wrapping filters the light into something atmospheric and textured. Most distinctively, the vertical reed stakes that hold the structure together extend above the rim in raw, uncut points — a deliberately unfinished crown that gives the piece its sculptural character and makes it look as much like something found as something made. At 11 inches wide and nearly 16 inches tall, it holds a standard pillar candle with substantial presence. Set it on a dining table, a patio surface, or a console and it shifts the mood of the room immediately.
