Its wide, sweeping belly opens the wine to air while it sits, softening tannins and letting the bouquet unfold properly, while the narrow neck makes pouring clean and controlled. At the base, a warm gilded gold disc catches candlelight from below — a quiet, glowing detail most decanters skip entirely.
