A layer of felt covers the glass before the gold glitter goes on, so the surface has a soft depth rather than the flat sparkle of glitter on bare glass. The ball comes in Red or Green, each in three sizes, the Small at 3.25 inches, the Medium at 4 inches and the Large at 4.75 inches, all in sets of six. The Red also comes as a matte onion shape, 4.75 inches tall, in a set of six, with the same felt and gold glitter over a softer finish. The Red reads as traditional and warm; the Green sits closer to the color of the branches and lets the gold do more of the talking. Between two colors and four shapes, a full-size tree can be dressed in this one finish alone.

Hang the Large low and the Small high so the tree tapers the way it should, and drop the onions in where a plain red ball would go.
