Hourglass Side Table in Mirror-Polished Stainless Steel with Gold Waist Ring

There are side tables, and then there are objects that happen to function as side tables. The Edition is firmly the latter.

The form is an hourglass — two opposing cones meeting at the waist in a polished gold ring that cinches the composition with the precision of a couture seam. Both cones are mirror-polished stainless steel, flawless and reflective, picking up the room around them and throwing it back in the curved geometry of the surface. The gold ring at the centre is the single point of colour in an otherwise monochromatic object — warm against the cool steel, convex and sculptural, like a jewel set into a setting that was made for nothing else. The upper cone opens into a flat circular top just wide enough for a glass, a candle, or the kind of small ceramic object that looks best elevated. At 14 inches across and 21 inches tall, the Edition sits at the precise height of a drinks table — which is what it is, technically, though calling it that undersells the point.

Place it and the room has a new focal point. Move it and you will feel the absence.
