The Corsica Pedestal Bowl has the unhurried beauty of something found at a French country market rather than purchased new. Its wide, shallow basin sits on a sturdy footed base, finished in a distressed whitewash that shows the marks of time in all the right places. Dark forged iron drop-ring handles flank each side, grounding the piece with just enough weight to keep it from reading as purely decorative. It is, in fact, highly functional: at 16.5 inches across, it holds a generous arrangement of fresh or dried florals, a pillar candle surrounded by pebbles or botanicals, a mound of seasonal fruit, or a floating arrangement of blooms and tea lights. It works as well on a dining table as it does on a console, a garden patio, or an entry hall.
